Flinders University Open Days 2014 will be held on Friday 15 August & Saturday 16 August 2014 from 9:30am to 4pm.
The Hub is the centre of Open Days where you can find our Training Ambulance and play video games developed by our students. In the Humanities Courtyard watch short films produced by our screen and media students, check out archaeology displays, media arts, philosophy and more.

This is where it all starts. The Hub is the centre of Open Days where you can find out just about anything and get a real taste of what Flinders has to offer.
Visit our ambulance display, check out the training equipment and talk to current paramedic science students to find out about their experiences studying at Flinders, including clinical placements.
The following four tours depart from outside the HUB unless otherwise stated. Please be at the departure point at least 15 minutes prior to the tour commencing.
Explore the campus with a current student and discover why students choose Flinders as their educational destination. Offered from 11am and run every hour until 3pm.
Experience first-hand the community atmosphere and award-winning living that our country, interstate and international students enjoy. Offered from 11am and run every half hour until 3.30pm.
Take the time to familiarise yourself with the fantastic fitness and sporting facilities and services available to you at Flinders Uni. Flinders One Sport & Fitness has it all. A welcoming place, you will be surprised and excited by the modern three-level fitness centre and all it offers. Get involved in fitness, a club, sporting event or program. Tours start from the student experience stand at 11am, 1pm and 3pm daily.
Take a tour of the Flinders Drama Centre. Meet at the HUB 15 minutes prior or go straight to the Creative Arts (Creative Writing and Drama) information sessions at 1:45pm Friday and 11:30am Saturday.
Take a guided tour through our Law School and investigate a murder from crime scene through to sentencing. You will learn about crime from a legal perspective and find out about Flinders’ Law, Justice & Society courses. Tours start from 11.30am, 12:30pm and 1:30pm each day. Enquire at the Law, Justice and criminology stand inside the HUB.
Visit our new state-of-the-art $7.4 million teaching clinic which enables optometry students to see real patients and offers optometry services to the South Australian community. Tours will run at 2:30pm on Friday and 3:30pm on Saturday, immediately following the optometry information sessions.
Speak to a virtual patient when you take part in the School of Nursing & Midwifery Tours – the future of nursing and midwifery education is here and it will amaze you!
Register for the Nursing Tour at 12:30pm and/or Midwifery Tour at 2.30pm at the DeCafé food hall in the Sturt Precinct on Saturday (registrations on the day are required).

Tours of Flinders' Biotechnology Labs will take place at 3.05pm on Friday and 12.05pm on Saturday, immediately following the medical science & biotechnology information sessions. See how sea cucumbers can be used in medicine and try your hand at making some algae balls.
Closed-toe footwear is a standard requirement in the Biology teaching laboratories so please be aware that participation may be restricted unless you have suitable footwear and adhere to any safety directions by the staff on hand. We look forward to welcoming you into the lab on the day!
Scheduled activities will go for approximately 35 minutes.
It's easy to take what's underneath our feet for granted. When you look deeper into the ground, you'll discover that rocks have fascinating stories behind them, in many cases stretching back to long before humans existed.

Enjoy a range of fun robot-based activities for kids and adults. Come and explore robot navigation, sensors and computer programming by solving a variety of fun challenges using our Lego NXT Mindstorms robots.

Chemistry and physics combine in a fascinating show about states of matter, as atoms and molecules are manipulated under cryogenic temperatures with “explosive” outcomes - experience the excitement and magic of liquid nitrogen.

Come and find out how forensic chemistry is used in national food security and the wine industry. It's a crime scene investigation of the edible type.
Saturday 16th August: 11:30am
Experience Indonesian culture and delight in beautiful sounds as our musicians perform throughout the campus.
International studies can take you all over the map. See where our academics and students have travelled and the impact they're making internationally. Show us where you'd like to study or work and you'll go into the draw to win a prize.
Vote for the first Australian President in our mock election. Just complete a ballot paper and post it into the ballot box for your chance to win a prize. The results will be drawn on Saturday at 3.45pm and the winner will be contacted by telephone and email.
Warm up over a coffee and enjoy the hospitality of the Flinders Business School in the Business Lounge, located just outside the Library. Current students and staff will be able to answer any queries in a relaxed atmosphere.
